You've reached the (rather sparse) homepage of the Toronto Winter Swimming Club, a group of people who enjoy swimming all year around in the Toronto area, primarily at Cherry Beach — the cleanest water in the Toronto area and a pleasant two to six degrees Celcius.

Swimming in the winter is safe, legal, very healthy (say goodbye to respiratory disorders), invigorating, and generally feels great (and is no colder than swimming in northern lake water or the northern oceans during the summer). It can be done by people of all ages throughout the entire winter in air temperatures well below freezing.

If you'd like to join us, please email an introduction to the address below to be added to our mailing list. No special equipment is needed, but you will want shoes you can wear in the water, swimming with a hat is recommended (since you lose most of your heat through your head), and you may also want water gloves to keep your hands warm.
